TERMS OF BUSINESS

We believe the services we offer are valuable and the remuneration received is fair reward for our expertise and skills. Our services include compliance, lodgements, and advice.

Compliance.

Compliance is where we strive to ensure you and any entity we are engaged as accountant and/or adviser are compliant with relevant government regulations within the frame of our engagement. We cannot be held responsible for non-compliance when our clients have failed to act responsibly and/or at our direction.

Lodgements.

We administer lodgements and submit forms on behalf of clients for matters relating to the Australian Tax Office (ATO), the Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC), and the Australian Business Register (ABR).

It is the responsibility of clients to ensure the information contained in lodgements and forms are true and correct. Should you have a change in personal details or circumstances, it is your responsibility to notify our office at your earliest convenience. Errors or omissions in personal details, and late lodgement of documents or forms with relevant government bodies, can attract fines and penalties. We cannot be held responsible if communication has not been made with our office to correct details or sufficient data has not been provided to complete lodgements or forms.

Advice.

We consider advice to be communication of information from our office that has the ability to influence outcomes for our clients. This may be verbal or written, will be in consideration of your goals and objectives, and we will always act in your best interest.

Our advice may not only contain accounting or tax related outcomes, but may be qualitative in nature therefore being of more intrinsic value to the individual or entity.

Fees & Charges.

Over time we experience changes to our client’s needs, legislation, and increased compliance costs. Because of this our fees are not only calculated on the time taken to undertake tasks, but also the value we add to our client’s overall position and the risk we take on providing our services.

Our fees are based on the following factors:

  • Value provided to our client

  • Time taken to undertake certain tasks

  • Risks & liability associated with the level of complex advice provided

  • Cost of providing the advice or service

You will be billed upon completion of services, at the time advice is provided, or issued a monthly invoice for work in progress, whichever is relevant to your personal situation.

We incur costs on behalf of clients for software, independent auditing, and other services. These are billed to you at the time the cost is incurred.

Your responsibilities.

Clients are responsible for supplying financial information to our office on a timely basis.  Such financial information may include details of income and expenses, reports and financial documents, bank statements, cheque books, finance and other contracts, and all information required to complete the matters undertaken. It is our expectation that we will have open access to your financial information in order to effectively complete matters on your behalf.
